Some pics during assembly:

After assembly the main board is slightly unfinished as I haven't quite decided if i should handle dimming with potentioneters, PIR sensor or just through software (mobile app).  Also at this point I haven't put the buttons on the tube board as, again I'm wondering if it might be better and more "minimalistic" to do it in software via a mobile app.

Bottom of tube  board (crazy angle and poor pic!)

After finally getting the code right to send data to the shift registers to light a tube with the correct digit reliably!

After then getting all the tubes on and displaying the correct numbers.

Having a look at what things might look like if it were sitting in a black acrylic case.  Not too bad!
